We are here, in this beautiful spot, for three nights. There’s even a spa/jacuzzi on the roof.

Long day, call it a night. Tomorrow we are doing a walking tour of Lecco, then taking a ferry on the lake, and then a local train ride home. Weather has been good so far.

Lecco Walking Tour

Lecco is a city on the southeastern shore of Lake Como, in northern Italy. It’s surrounded by mountains like Monte Resegone, with trails for all levels, and the Piani d’Erna lookout point, accessed by cable car. Monte Barro Regional Park has paths, plus the remains of a 5th-century settlement and the Costa Perla birdwatching station. In the city center is the Basilica di San Nicolò, with its neo-Gothic bell tower.

It’s a bit of a rainy day, more misty, actually, than rainy. Except for being on the lake, there’s not much here to offer the general tourist

BUONO NOTTE FROM LAKE COMO

Tomorrow (Domani)
Milano

Day trip to Milan

Milan, a metropolis in Italy's northern Lombardy region, is a global capital of fashion and design. Home to the national stock exchange, it’s a financial hub also known for its high-end restaurants and shops. The Gothic Duomo di Milano cathedral and the Santa Maria delle Grazie convent, housing Leonardo da Vinci’s mural “The Last Supper,” testify to centuries of art and culture.

We spent the day today in Milan. It’s crowded, busy, the traffic is awful, cars and motorcycles parked everywhere. We saw some of main sights and then got the heck out of Dodge.
